What Causes Severe Pain In Right Eye And Dizziness?

I have been having eye pain in my right eyr since November and it had gradually gotten worse. I have also been dizzy and have vision problems, especially at night. Sometimes I have numbness and tingling at my cheekbone. I have seen 3 different opthamologists and they all said the same thing. It is not my eye causing the problem. I had a MRI without contrast and they didn t see anything going on behind my eye. They did however, find a lesion on the left side of my brain that most likely isn t malignant but doesn t have anything to do with my eye pain. Do you know what might be wrong, or at least what to look for and what kind of doctor I need to see?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe pain in right eye and dizziness . The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection , meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis and multiple sclerosis. But the symptoms are seems to be due to sinusitis . Sometimes ear infection occur due to postnasal drip due to sinusitis. You should avoid bending forward , take steam , drink ginger tea thrice a day and do light exercises daily . I would suggest you to consult with ENT specialist for proper checkup so that there will not be any further complication. Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , MRI , blood test , audiometry test and ECG to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug, sedatives , antibiotics , decongestants , drain sinus and prescribe some ear aid. Doctor may also refer you to ophthalmologist for eye problem .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
