Hi, I have pain in my right eye that just started about an hour ago as I was doing homework. It is very painful when my eyeball moves. Also the eye is red. I have been doing a great deal of reading and computer work. When I open my eye and the light hits it it is extremely painful.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Painful eye can be due to various reasons like refractive error causing muscle fatigue, infection, inflammation, etc.
Usually the symptoms appear in bilateral eyes simultaneously and it is uncommon for the symptoms to affect single eye at one time.
However, clinical assessment of the eye is required to determine the cause of the symptoms.
Thus, I suggest you to consult an ophthalmologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
