What Causes Severe Pain In Sciatica Post Knee Surgery?

My husband had knee surgery for minuscus repair 12/10. He is slow to get back to normal. His legs are beginning to gain strength and improve but his arms are so sore I guess from lifting himself up and down in a chair and not getting better. Sometimes he can barely lift his coffee cup. He is trying to be active and always has been as we live on a ranch. Sometimes he can only drive 11 miles into town then I have to drive. He says he has a sharp pain in his bottom. Sounds like sciatica ? He is bummed and discouraged and feels something is wrong! We live in a very small town with only a community health clinic and they say he just needs time. What say you?
