Hello,
The following might be few causes of your shoulder pain:
1)
Rotator cuff tendonitis
2) Rotator cuff tear
3) Injury to rotator cuff
4) Swimmer's shoulder
Shoulder injuries are very common in people playing golf. My suggestions are as follows:
1) Take pain relief meditation like NSAIDs tab. Ibuprofen or tab. Naproxen twice daily for 1 week.
2) To prevent gastric irritation, also take tab. Pantop 40 mg once daily before food.
3) If you have any bleeding disorders or
heart failure, NSAIDs are to be avoided.
4) In that case, you can take opioids like tab.
Hydrocodone, oxycodone or Tramadol twice daily for 1 week.
5)
Physical therapy is advised to strengthen the rotator cuff muscles around the shoulder.
6) Please do consult a physical therapist to know the exercises of shoulder.
If your symptoms don't come down even after 1 week, you may consult an orthopedic doctor for further evaluation like x ray shoulder joint.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
