What Causes Severe Pain In Tail Bone Along With Bleeding From Rectum?
Hi, I am a 21 year old female . I had a bad horseback riding accident years ago that left me with a bruised tailbone and it has never healed. It hurts when I work out and sit down for long periods of time. I went for a bowel movement yesterday and today and both times there was a decent amount of bleeding (thought I had my period) . Should I be worried ?
Bleeding from rectum can be due to piles (most common), anal fissure, polyps, ulcerative colitis, or peptic ulcers. In your case it's mostly because piles. If you have pain while passing stool, it is due to anal fissure.
Prevent hard stools. Take more fiber in diet. Syrup Looz once daily at bedtime for 5 days. Tab. Calcium Dobesilate once daily for 1 week. Sitz bath meaning sitting in a tub of warm water with Povidine iodine added to it for 10 min at once 2-3 times in a day will help relieve symptoms. If the bleeding is heavy, tab. Tranexamic acid thrice daily for 2 days will help.
If your symptoms don't come down even after 1 week, please do consult a general surgeon for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
