Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son, age 19 is a healthy athlete in college. He told me yesterday that one of his testicles has been hurting for a while now, a few weeks. He spoke with his doctor (our friend) and the dr said it could be a testicular hernia. He also went to the clinic at school and they said the same thing, and that it was not protruding, so that was good. He does not plan to come home until school gets out in May. I ve never heard of such a diagnosis. Should I get him examined asap at home?
Hi. This isn't a hernia but it could be an infection like epididymitis or a partial torsion--twisting--of the testicle. He needs a urinalysis and an ultrasound of the scrotum to determine which it is
