Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello there. The past 3 days I ve had severe abdominal-pain. Had to leave work today. My stools are very thin so I consumed a recommended dose of fiber in a fruit-smoothy when I got home. I felt much less pain and took a nap for 4 hours and then woke-up feeling the pain again. As soon as I stood up the pain gradually became severe again, over a 15 minute period. I finally went #2 (for the 2nd time today) and it was very thin again. By thin I mean liquidy. I then felt better for a couple hours and now I feel the pain coming back. When I eat I do not eat large portions and I relieve myself regularly. Do you have any questions to help me pin-point the cause possibly?
Hello Dear. You are having gastritis. Some tips 1. Do not eat spicy food 2. Take medications without fail as prescribed by your doctor- pantop/omez/rantac 3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8am, small snack at 11am, lunch at 1pm, small snack at 4pm and dinner at 8pm 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Do not smoke, take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea 6. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis 7. Do regular exercise. Atleast half an hour per day 8. Learn meditation techniques 9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit
