What Causes Severe Pain In The Ankle After An Injury?
I sprained my ankle approx. 2 weeks ago, it s been okay pain wise and I ve been able to walk on it the past week. Today at work I stepped off a stair and my foot landed on the ground kinda hard, causing my ankle to hurt a bit. Now I m feeling an intense start shooting pain in the ankle, could I have further injured my ankle when I came off the step hard? And should I be concerned about the sharp shooting pain.
As this is due to ligament injury. Already you had ankle sprain due to which joint was not stable and muscle was weak. On top of it, the fresh injury has aggravated the symptoms. I will advise the MRI ankle.
Stabilize the ankle in crepe bandage or ankle brace. Do hot water fermentation, ankle stability exercise, knee static hamstring, and static Quadriceps. Allow sufficient strength in the muscles to arise and pain to come down. Once okay then balance board training will be good.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
