General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The pain at injection site can be due to
- low or poor absorption of the drug when given intramuscular
- thrombophlebitis when given intravenous

A thorough clinical examination is mandatory for the particular case evaluation apart from giving analgesic medications.

Till you follow up with your consultant, ice application and Thrombophob ointment will support best.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
