Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had back surgery in June to remove a spur that was pressing on a nerve. The surgeon also removed some bone to widen the space between discs, as I understand it. I ve had some discomfort off and on that I expected. But today my back, buttocks, thigh and lower leg are quite painful and there is burning in my thigh. Is this something I need to contact my neurosurgeon about?

What Causes Severe Pain In The Buttocks And Legs?
Hello, The symptoms are consistent with conditions like sciatica. As a first line management you can take drugs like gabapentin for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist you can consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
