What Causes Severe Pain In The Chest And Excessive Sweating?
I recently had surgery on my neck, multilevel anterior disectomy. Since then i have been experiencing sharp chest pain and sweating. I also have barretts esophagus Im on omeprazole. I never have heartburn. Since surgery i am having a problem yet with food getting stuck. I am having a ct of my chest tomarrow and have had bloodwork. If a heart problem is ruled out, could it be a problem with my esopagus ?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Barrett's esophagus, is considered an advanced stage of esophageal reflux disease, and is related to a high risk of developing esophageal cancer. Having or not a heart problem, doesn't affect the risk that this condition has for cancer. It's important for you to have regular check-ups for precancerous cells in your esophagus.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
