What Causes Severe Pain In The Clitoris After Urination?

Today is the third day I ve been going through this. I have been feeling a sharp pain in my clitoris at the end of my urination and I haven t have had any other signs of UTI like my urine is not cloudy there is no blood and there s no pain while urinating but just at the end of urinating there is a pain in the clitoris and after I am done peeing its gone and only in the morning when I wake up I have this sensation of peeing multiple times, rest of the day it s normal. so I am just worried as to what it might be I am wondering if it is a seriously issue,or if its normal and will clear on its own ... what do I do about it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be UTI. Sometimes UTI will not be present with all the classical symptoms. It is also possible to have UTI without any symptoms. Better to do a urine routine test and check for infections. If infection is seen do a culture and sensitivity and consult a doctor for appropriate antibiotic treatment. Take 2 liters of water per day if you do not have any fluid restrictions suggested for any other medical condition. Regularly urinate and empty the bladder every 3 hours irrespective of the urge to urinate. Before sleeping in night urinate twice in a gap of 5 minutes and empty bladder before going to bed. These precautions will help keep UTI at bay in future.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jasmine Jagan
