Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having elbow pain and forearm pain. My chiropractor has put my elbow back into place 2 times in the last month. It was not caused by an injury. I just started having elbows pain that feels like it is inside and so my Chiro checked it and it was a slight movement but gave me immediate relief. About a week and a half later, I started having the pain again to the point that my forearm was hurting so bad I could not sleep. Chiro adjusted again and there was a much larger movement back into place. The severe pain went away but I am having dull elbow pain and forearm pain - especially when trying to lift something like a glass off the counter (when my hand is turned sideways). I wake up several times a night with pain. Straightening my arm brings some relief but not complete relief. It feels best when I am standing and arm is hanging down. Thank you for any help. I m trying to decide if I should get it checked out by a doctor and if so, which kind of Doctor - GP or Ortho.
Acute ligament spasm or inflammation can be part of the presentation with pain in elbow and forearm as lateral epicondylitis or others. In my clinic, I do recommend a thorough clinical examination of elbow joint with range of motion, tenderness in particular postures, peripheral pulses, sensations and biceps , triceps reflexes. Later on after primary assessment and evaluation, if at all required an orthopedic surgeon comes into picture, but not directly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
