Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a relatively healthy 41 year old female with a bit of an issue. For the past two years or so, I will occasionally be woken up in the middle of the night with horrible pain either in my elbow or knee. The only way to make the pain go away is by stretching out my knee or elbow repeatedly, which causes another wave of pain before it feels alright again. The process of stretching and the pain leaving normally takes around three to five minutes before I can finally sleep again. I have no clue what s happening. Help?
Sounds like you may have some type of inflammatory response going on in the joint. Recommend a routine visit to your Primary care physician for routine blood work and inflammatory marker and or atleast a specialty consult with rheumatology and/or orthopedic doctor
