What Causes Severe Pain In The Face Every Morning?

I have intense pain in my face before getting up every morning. It seems to originate above my upper jaw, just uner my left eye. It gradually subsides when I get up, but I can usually feel it faintly during the day. Several dentists have ruled out a dental problem, but I do wear a night guard to reduce effects of grinding. ENT has determined that there is nothing wrong with my sinuses. The pain is an intense burning sensation, radiating down to my back teeth, where I have 2 implants.

Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like TMJ dysfunction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
