What Causes Severe Pain In The Groin On The Right Side?

Hi, I have severe pain in my right front groin/high thigh area that gets worse if I stand or walk. It has been going on for about three weeks and is getting worse as time goes on. These past three days it has been constant every time I stand or try to walk.

Hi,

The symptoms specified by you can be due to a lot of reasons. The most suitable diagnosis as per my assessment seems to be muscle strain as the pain is getting worse with movement.

Groin strain or pulled groin muscle, occurs as a result of awkward movement of the hip joint, which leads to stretching or tearing of the inner thigh muscles.

As an initial plan of management, you should rest and avoid unnecessary movement or strain of the muscles. Compression can be gently applied with an ace or another elastic bandage, which can both provide support.

Apart from the above measures, Apply ointment Methyl salicylate locally at the area of pain or Diclofenac Gel. Take Tab Diclonac-MR.

If the symptoms don’t subside, please contact your local doctor to check for any joint dislocation or other pathology.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maninder,
