Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Pain In The Hand, Arm And Knee After An Injury?
For the past 8 or 9 months whenever I bump my had, arm elbow knee foot etc. the pain resonates thru my skin. It seems to happen even if I just graze myself. I have always been pretty able to bump myself without not even feeling it. The pain is on a scale of 1 to 10 probably a 7 or 8 and only lasts for a minute or two, but it really is painful.
It's due to stimulation of ulnar nerve and the radiation of pain shows the neuropathic origin and is typical of ulnar nerve due to its passage and the area of symptoms you mentioned. You can get a neurologist review and get motor system examination of upper limbs and sensory system too if needed. Nerve conduction studies may also be done. Meanwhile nerve pain suppressants like gabapentin can be helpful.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
