What Causes Severe Pain In The Hips, Knees And Shoulders?

I have had hip, knee, shoulders and elbow joint pain for a few weeks now. I wake up sore. Especially my shoulders and hips. Sometimes my feet also hurt in the morning. Ibuprofen does not seem to be helping. Get in and out of the car and or a chair after I have sat for a while has been painful. I have been under a lot of stress and have not been sleeping well. Can this just be stress?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
Your symptoms seems to be related to rheumatoid arthritis.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
1)Take pain medication,ibuprofen or acetaminophen
2)Use a warm, moist compress to loosen up a stiff joint. Try an ice pack on an inflamed joint. 3)Massage may also help.
4)Make it a priority every day to relax. Try to manage stress.
5)Focus on things you enjoy.
6)Join a support group. It’s a great place to talk with people who know what you are going through because they are, too.
7)Exercise. It will make your joints feel better, not worse. Even if you're in pain, there are some exercises you can do.
8)Eat a healthy, balanced diet. Don’t turn to “comfort food,” cigarettes, or alcohol.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
