What Causes Severe Pain In The Hips?

What can cause hip pain (have had bursitis in the past and it feels like this) but also have severe pain (knife sharp pain) in the groin and some pain across knee and it feels like my clothes are abrasive to the knee. Some pain in low back but this is not enough to be debilitating like that groin pain. Getting up from a sitting position makes me almost yell it hurts so bad in the groin.

hi mam/sir,your symptoms make me think of the following :
1)fracture hip(femoral neck) if you have got severe osteoporosis, even trivial trauma like a jerk would cause a fracture.
2)if you had been on steroids for a long time, avascular necrosis of femur head is a possibility.
3)lumbar intervertebral slipped disc or degenerative disc disease.
4)trochanter is bursitis of femur.

we can arrive at a specific diagnosis only with the examination of affected limb and necessary investigations like an x-ray.undue delay in treatment may complicate the case scenario.so,please consult an orthopaedic surgeon for timely intervention.
for the time being, pain can be subsided using analgesics like NSAIDs(ibuprofen, aceclofenac).if you have any kidney issues or age>60yrs,NSAIDs are to be avoided and tramadol with paracetamol is a good alternative.hope I’m clear.any other health issues, please write to us.its my pleasure to be of any help to you.thank you.take care.bye.
