What Causes Severe Pain In The Knee?
I am a 68 yr.old woman who has had two rounds of cortisone and the gel injections in my knees. I am now experiencing popping in my left knee and pain in the back of my left knee and am unable to bend left knee without severe pain. Should I return to my ortho specialist or just continue with the Celebrex and ice packs on my knees?

You seem to have developed complication of Cortisone injection into the knee joint. Intra-articular (into the joint) injection may cause injury to meniscus or ligaments found inside the joint if the technique is not followed properly.
From the symptoms given in your query there is a possibility of such ligament injury, so I would advise you to consult your treating Orthopedic surgeon for further evaluation and treatment.
