What Causes Severe Pain In The Knees?

I recently went to a urgent care center after my right knee pain suddenly got Way Worse than ever before. I wasn t doing anything at the time the pain got intense. The xrays showed no problems so he thought it could be Gout. Now the blood test came back negative for that. If it isn t Gout what could be causing the Intense pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your X-ray and gout report was normal as per mentioned history. So it can be muscle strain problem which can lead to intense pain in the knee.

It might not be detected in X-ray if the tear is minor. You can be prescribed anti-inflammatory medication for your problem. If no improvement than ANA estimation and MRI knee can be planned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
