Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good afternoon, I have for sometime been having sharp pains in the area of my left breast. I have gotten looked at and nothing comes up. I was diagnosed with acid reflux and have been on meds for a few years for that. Lately the pains are more frequent and hurt. I am also having some other things that are happening like my eye twitches a lot, sometimes it feels like it is fuzzy to see, I feel knumbness in my checks and my middle finger starts to feel stiff
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Most causes of pain in the breast are benign and not serious. There are a number of harmless causes for breast pain and tenderness that may primarily be related to changes in hormone levels. These can include: menstruation and premenstrual syndrome (PMS), mastitis, menopause and fibrocystic breast tissue which is most common. Fibrocystic breasts are not necessarily linked to cancer, and the lumps are fluid-filled cysts rather than a mass of cells. However, it is advisable to do a breast ultrasound and mammography just to be sure and start regular follow-up for possible cysts. In case of redness, fever and progressive pain may indicate abscess and then it should be surgically drained or evacuated by a needle under control of ultrasound.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein
