What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Ear And Sore Throat?
I went to my doctor about extreme pain in left ear. Had soar throat, and cough prior. It got to the point where it was boarder line unbarrable.Doct gave me a shot of something that started with an r ?? Plus put me on a z-pack. today I took last z-pack dose. My ear is still an issue, cant hear out of it now. I had been taken 800 mg of motrin to off set pain. Next step I should ask her to do?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe pain in the left ear and sore throat which is due to upper respiratory tract infection and it could be strep throat infection and spreading to ears through eustachian tube. Need not to worry about it.
I would suugest you to
- Gargle warm saline rinses.
- Put otogesic ear drops.
- Apply mist humidifiers in room.
- Take steam inhalation through the nose and mouth will help including the ear discomfort.
- Take diet rich in multivitamins.
- Avoid carbonated beverages. Drink plenty of water as well.
Visit ENT specialist once and get some routine blood investigation done. Go for thorough examination.An anti-allergic, mucolytic agent will help to reduce discomfort.
