Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had carpel tunnel surgery on my right wrist 15 years ago. Was diagnosed with it in both wrists at that time. Now, after all these years, my left elbow is aching like a toothache and feels just like when my I was having problems with the right wrist. Is the elbow pain a symptom of carpal tunnel in my left wrist? I do use an ergonomic keyboard but I have been typing quite a lot.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I have read your question, aches at the wrist can be because of the carpel tunnel syndrome. However, the pain of CTS (carpel tunnel syndrome) generally extends in to the outer 2 and half fingers. It generally produces numbness and tingling in these two fingers. The pain is produced in the hands and hyper extended for half a minute, like in reverse prayer pose. pain also produces with striking the wrist. So, yes there is a possibility of it. But there are other causes as well. So talk to your doctor in this regards.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
