What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Hip?

I just had a MRI and the results were sent to me but I don t understand them It reads there is severe left foraminal narrowing secondary to the combination of a broad-based posterior disc bulge and asymmetric. I have been having severe pain I my left hip for one month

Hi,

Yes the MRI is explaining your pain. In fact large nerve from our spine exit through spaces between discs between vertebrae.

Sometimes the discs between the vertebrae protrude out from the centre which causes narrowing of space through which the nerve exits.

Hence there is pressure on the nerve ( compression ) which causes the pain. This is all as said by the MRI.

This is managed mostly with physiotherapy and some painkiller. See your neurosurgeon in this regards.
