What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Humerus While Treating Skin Cancer?

My grandfather is 98, has had skin cancer (primarily on his neck and left arm), and has been treated many years ago(5 or more) and has not had any further issues with it since. Recently he has been complaining of having pain in left humerus in the form of deep coldness, even when I examined and touched it, I found that it was distinctly colder than any other part of his arm. in particular not the muscle tissue, but the actual bone itself. so could you please help me with any ideas of what might be occurring with him??? Thank you Kevin Asato

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Severe bone pain can be acute inflammation of recent onset or sudden change in a pre-existing chronic condition as osteomyelitis or else.
As the patient had past history of skin cancer, remote possibility of bone metastasis can be considered.

Primary evaluation with X-ray of the humerus is initial to proceed ahead in this regard.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
