What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Abdomen And Back?
Okay thanks for any help. For over ten days my sister who is 74, is having severe pain that appears to be in her lower stomach and it radiates to the back. Very Painful. She had a CT Scan normal. All along they had thought she may have had diverticulitis and treated as such with nausea meds and pain meds. Appt to see a Gastroenterologist is being made with a colonoscopy to follow. With so much pain I am concerned there may be a large growth in her colon that has possibly spread. Any clinical advise would be appreciated. She is diabetic, but has lost 59 lbs. in the last year, She said it was easy..and that concerns me too. Thank You. Sorry I thought this was free information. Guess I didn t pay enough attention what this consisted of.
There can be several reasons for pain in the abdomen, radiating to back side. It can be due to:
-Kidney stones
-Ulceration in the gut
-Any neoplastic growth in the gut
-Nephropathy from diabetes
-Stones in gallbladder
To reach at a final diagnosis, case history and examination is needed. I suggest you visit the hospital and get her checked by general surgeon and nephrologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar, Dentist
