What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

I have severe lower abdominal cramps for seven hours. The pain begins over my navel and extends over both sides. My belly is rigid and cramps get more sever when my belly is touched. I am menstruating....but these cramps are like nothing I have ever had.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to the menstrual syndrome.

I recommend using an inflammatory medication to reduce pain such as Ibuprofen 600 mg two times a day.

I also recommend using heat compresses for relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
