What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back On The Left Side?

I have severe pain localized in my left lower back, rated 8/10. This pain started a month ago and has subsided to a few days ago where it has increased at this point. It feels more as nerve pain then soreness also I feel a knot in this area. Pain does not radiate at all but is worst when I sit. I do have scoliosis in my lower back but but does not give me much problems. I am 33y/o female 5 4 around 141lbs. I am not a unhealthy person at all besides the fact I haven t been working out too much since I had a baby eight months ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The pain on your back is due to scoliosis problems you are having.

However, as you gave birth only 8 months ago, should be related to genital issues like incoming periods or infection.

Get a urine analysis done, you might also need to have abdominal ultrasound and x-ray of the lower back to determine the right diagnosis.

Discuss this further with your gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
