What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back?

I have had lower back surgery about three years ago. The pain is chronic and does not get better. I have tried nerve block surgery and other types of treatments. Over the last few weeks I have been having severe pain in my upper right portion of my back. Stabbing pain usually when I turn or lay down.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a spine-related problem like a prolapsed disc.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
