Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Lower back pain that kept me awake last night. Haven t lifted weights since Monday so unlikely the cause. Low grade temp. Daughter is in PA school and checked my kidneys, no pain when she thumps on them. 800mg ibuprofen helped a lot but didn t entirely eliminate the pain.
The symptoms you are experiencing can occur during a viral illness. Back pain is likely due to muscle pain commonly associated with viral fever. Take adequate rest and stay hydrated.
Use Tylenol to reduce fever and pain. If the back pain worsens, fever worsens or you develop any concerning symptoms like pain during urination. Pain in other joints/muscles etc. follow up with urgent care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
