What Causes Severe Pain In The Lower Back?

I have had sharp pains in my lower back for the past 2 weeks. I went to the ER in extreme pain and was told that that I had muscle spasms and was given pain pills. The pain pills are not relieving the pain. I was given Tramadol and when that didn t help with the pain I was given Tylenol 3 Codiene by another doctor at urgent carewith with no relief either. Aspirin seem to help but the pain is still there and I am feeling no better. I have a history of kidney infections, and I thought that it was my kidneys. Both doctors says I have small amount of blood in my urine but not enough to cause this kind of pain. I don t know what else to do. Should I just wait it out and get a third opinion?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I understand your question and I will try to help you
For such presentation in my clinic I will prefer to do X-ray for lumbosacral spine to search for any problem in your lumbar spine. Also you Should reasses UTI by doing abdominal ultrasound and urine analysis.
