Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My dad started out having very bad neck pain about a week ago, he received a cortisone shot and muscle relaxers and pain medication, the pain has gotten progressively worse and he has no range of motion at all. He was treated by a chiropractor yesterday and got a little range of motion back but today the pain is worse than ever and is now down in hips as well. He can not even sit up on his own. There is no fever or sign of infection.
From the symptoms, I agree with you to some extent that this seems to be something else rather than a simple lump.
Any simple lump, will not re-occur again. It seems more of a muscle or a connective tissue disorder that may have gone undiagnosed.
I would suggest you get a recent MRI done and after assessing the extent of the lesion, a core needle biopsy with histopathology examination should be done to come to an exact diagnosis.
It is appreciable that you avoid taking any sort of pain medications and should continue doing the same. The root cause of this needs to be found out first rather than blindly taking the medicines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
