What Causes Severe Pain In The Right Arm Radiating To The Neck?

I have severe pain in my right arm that has generated from there into my neck and shoulders and continued into my left arm. I can t sleep but only on my left side. I have weakness in both arms and aching, burning pain which is non-stop. Started not long after I got the Hepatitis C vaccine. Every morning I feel a pop in my right arm and tension in my neck. Could there have been damage done by receiving the vaccination?

Hello,

As the radiating symptoms from the neck to the upper limb one side or either side can be due to nerve impingement. This can happen due to either muscle spasm or due to cervical spine disc injury. We need to assess this. Post the vaccination certain symptoms are uncommon and need a clinical examination.

For now, you can use cervical soft collar, do hot water fermentation to the neck and upper back. Post which doing gentle massage to the Trapezius muscle will be good to relax the muscle spasm. Doing static neck exercises, shoulder stabilization exercises, upper limb strengthening exercises, inter-scapular muscle strengthening exercises should help ease the symptoms.
