Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My right arm began hurting to the point it woke me up last night and my chest has felt full for awhile. I am very healthy and not overweight, not a smoker and exercise 3 to 4 times per week. However, being 57 I did not want to ignore the signs so went to ER early this morning, all tests came back normal but pain is now in both arms and legs and almost unbearable...tylenol with codeine has not even taken off the edge and I cannot sleep...very very unusual do you have any ideas...really painful since 2 am... no headache or neck pain or foot paint
Because all examinations came out normal, it is very likely you are having generalized muscular pains due to a possible viral infection. Generally they should last less then a week and you can take some ibuprofen as well to help with pain (take it after food to not hurt your stomach).
Make sure you drink plenty and you rest well. If no improvement in a few days or any worsening you will need to see your doctor.
If you are using any medications for a chronic condition, like medications for high lipids, this may also be the cause of the pains and you will need to let your doctor know as soon as possible.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj General & Family Physician
