What Causes Severe Pain In The Right Leg?

I am suffering from pain in the right leg. It starts at the lower buttock near the hip joint and runs down the back of the thigh and into the calf. The pain subsides when sitting but returns when walking and becomes unbearable when standing still. Is this pain with the sciatic nerve?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Yes, as per your history, it appears to be Sciatic nerve compression causing the pain. It would be required for you to undergo an MRI of the lumbo-Sacral spine to see for the cause of nerve compression. If it is a prolapsed intervertibral disc, you should have it removed by an minimal invasive surgery. Once that is done and pain removed, you would have to undergo specific physiotherapy to strengthen the lower back muscles.
