What Causes Severe Pain In The Shin Bone?

I have had severe pain in my shin bones for over 15 years. It only hurts if someone touches or presses the front of my shin, or my little Maltese dog steps on them or such. No pain when walking or anything else, just so painful if you were to grab my ankle. Could this be bone cancer?

Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it is very less likely to be bone cancer as you suspected, as it doesn't stay without progression in fifteen years.

However for reassurance bone scan may done and also T score estimation should have been done, to rule out osteoporosis.

Supplements for calcium D3 osien mineral complexes may be helpful. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
