What Causes Severe Pain In The Shoulder Blade While Suffering From Osteoarthritis?

Only 49 years old and diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Recently started having severe pain in shoulder blade and was found to have 2 dics in neck compressing a nerve and just finished a steroid dose pack. Will start physical therapy on Monday and have been on Mobil 7.5 for a week. It helps some but I have been taking 800 MG of ibuprofen three times a day for a long time and now the doctor doesn t want me to take it anymore. Said I took way too much. But the Mobic is not working as well. Now reading the side effects of it. I wonder which was worse? Not sure if increasing the mobic is a good idea. Is 800 MG ibuprofen that bad three times a day, sometimes four.
