What Causes Severe Pain In The Small Toe?

Hello my small toe is very sore in between seen nurse practitioner who said it s caused by my toe pressing against the toe next to it have changed shoes but it s not healing and socks don t help it gets painful to walk I m a hca working in a hospital so lots of standing and walking
