Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Last month for about two weeks I had excruciating pain in my stomach. My dad said stop drinking Mountain Dew so I did and I began to feel better. Just yesterday tho, I drank a large Mountain Dew from Taco Bell and now today I m experiencing the same pains but there not as bad as last time. Is Mountain Dew to blame for this?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can. I dont htink Mountain Dew is teh cause since it usually dont lead to such pain. Your symptoms are nonspecific, but these may be suggestive of gastritis, GERD or hiatal hernia so you should do gastroscopy to evaluate it more accurately. This is caused by irritation of stomach mucosa by certain food or medications, stress and smoking. You need to avoid fried food, carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and spicy food. You should eat more milk products, vegetables and boiled food. Also, certain antiacid medications may be required when the diagnosis is established.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
