What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper Abdomen After Taking Sleeping Pills?
I took an over the counter sleep-aid about 36-48 hour ago, about 30-42 hours ago i started expierencing SEVERE upper abdomen pain. The location is my reason for concern, the upper abdomen almost dead center between my ribs (i think maybe my liver or spleen) honestly i am beginning to freak out Sir or Ma am. It is causing me to double over, hold my breath so it doesn t hurt for a few moments and other unhealthy coping skills. Any advise or educated guesses please?????
Based on the history you have shared, you need to get evaluated by ultrasound abdomen to rule out gallstones or pancreatitis but if unremarkable likely possibility would be of gastric origin like peptic ulcer disease.
Using antacids like Omeprazole and antispasmodic like Drotaverine can be used. OTC analgesic like Acetaminophen can also help with pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
