What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

My upper stomach and left side of my abdomen have been hurting off and on for over a month. Pain level as high as 8-9 with sweating and chills prn. A blood test didn t show an infection and nothing showed up on a recent ct scan. What further tests would you recommend? This is not at all normal for me, a 54-year-old female.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms can be related to gastritis.

Gastritis is the inflammation of the lining of the stomach.

I would recommend you to do an endoscopy and a visit at a gastrologist for further evaluation.

Meanwhile I suggest you to use Buscpopan for temporary relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
