General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The pain you describe is inflammatory in character. Arthritis is a general term that describes inflammation in joints. Some types of arthritis associated with inflammation include:
-Osteoarthritis
-Rheumatoid arthritis
-Psoriatic arthritis
-Gouty arthritis
-Systemic lupus erythematosus
Such pain respond well on hydrocortisone. However, chronic use of steroids is not good due to side effects.I will suggest you try the following:
*Take a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like aceclofenac
*A myorelaxant like miorel
Then see the Doctor for examination and investigation. You will need to get a hip x ray. From the results, treatment options may be discussed.Other test that may be requested given the inflammatory nature of your pain include: ESR, Rheumatoid factor, ASLO, full blood count and others depending on the diagnostic orientation of the Doctor.
Hope this will help
Best regards
