Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a continuing and chronic pain in my upper thigh. The pain extends down my leg. Putting weight on it is very pain as is walking after sitting. I walk with a limp to offset the pain. I have had my hip xrayed. Nothing. I have had physical therapy for 6 weeks. Pain persists. I have seen an orthopedic doctor and have had pain injections at a pain management center. The pain still persists. What should I do at this point?

What Causes Severe Pain In The Upper Thigh?
Hello, Most probably it will be due to neuropathic causes like sciatica. As a first line management, you can try analgesics like Gabapentin for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedic and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
