What Causes Severe Pain In Upper Stomach After Eating?

Hi.I am a 45 year old healthy female that is suffering from strange stomach issues I have never had before. They have been happening for a few weeks now daily. Generally about an hour after I eat I have severe pain in my upper stomach. The pain is two-fold - feels like a swallowed a football and there are sharp pains. I also feel sick but don't throw up. I don't always have to eat anything for this pain to occur and it lasts different amounts of time. The pains leaves as quickly as it comes on.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain in stomach after eating can be due to a number of causes like overeating, taking lots of spicy food, food intolerance, food allergies,Intestinal obstruction, Celiac disease, Irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, diverticulitis etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and also advise investigations like Upper G. I Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, blood tests etc to rule out the exact cause of problems and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised to do warm compresses over stomach, take antacid like Calcium carbonate, take small frequent meals, avoid spicy food, take Probiotics like Yoghurt in diet, drink plenty of water..
Abstain from over eating and do moderate workout,,

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
