What Causes Severe Pain Inside The Left Thigh?

I have a sudden severe pain inside my left thigh. It hurts but more so to the touch with no visual signs at all including brusing or rash. Could it be shingles? I had a back xray earlier today and had to position that leg to the left, could it be muscle related or tendon? At the time I did not feel any pain.

Hi,

Shingles are usually associated with a rash through the pain can sometimes occur in absence of a rash.

In light of the fact that you recently had to move the leg in an awkward position, the pain is likely due to injury to the muscle.

An ice compress to the area applied 2 to 3 times daily for 10 to 15 mins along with the use of anti-inflammatory medication (eg Naproxen, Ibuprofen etc)- the pain may resolve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
