What Causes Severe Pain On Right Side Of Abdomen And Back?

have burning pain in right side of abdomen and back, visibly enlarged area near liver, ultra sound scan prescribed by Endocrinologist shows fatty liver, and enlarged. No other issues, masses or blockage. I am diabetic. A1c not as good as it should be. Going to gastroenterologist on Thursday for first time. Any advice on tests, next steps? YYYY@YYYY

* As per my clinical experience, the burning pain side of right abdomen and back with visibly enlarged area near liver may be in relation with liver congestion or enlargement from various reasons as

- alcohol intake related
- auto immune mechanics
- chronic hepatitis
- biliary blockage
- others

However, if you can provide me details of your scan copies , I can guide further precisely in this regard. As the next step of evaluation is CT scan or MRI abdomen after initial ultrasound and lab tests are being carried out.
