What Causes Severe Pain On The Middle Back?

I have on and off for approximately 6 months had the stabbing pain in my right side middle back. Recently more severe and lasting days at a time. I have wondered if it is associated with a torn rotator cuff surgery (which the surgeon found several old tears from my physical job and possibly a fall with a ladder on my right shoulder). The surgery did not take and his advice was total shoulder replacement. He said I could wait until I couldn t take it any more and that it wouldn t damage any other body parts. That was in 2013 Becasue of the increasing pain and feeling of taking my breath away I am more concerned than just a residual from my shoulder. Any suggestions

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
