What Causes Severe Pain On The Right Toe?

I suddenly have a throbbing pain in my little right toe. During the day when I am actuve, I hardly notice the pain but when I am at rest, and especially in bed, the pain, which comes in spurts, keeps me awake. I haven t stubbed my toe but there does seem to be a hard swelling at the side of the toe.

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely gout attack. If you send a picture of it then it will be more helpful. You should also check blood levels of uric acid. Taking Ibuprofen 400mg thrice daily or colchicine will be helpful to stop gout attack.
