What Causes Severe Pain Under The Breast Post An Injury?

I fell in the shower and hurt my ribs in the middle of my side which left a huge black bruise on my side. Went to urgent care and been on pain meds..x-rays didn t show anything broken. It s been two weeks and I m still in horrible pain which has moved upward and inward right under my breast and side. It hurts to move even the slightest bit. What could that pain still mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You may need to have the x rays or other in-depth imaging (eg CT) repeated since the pain is still so severe. In some cases of acute injury, the damage is not originally seen. It would be best to be reassessed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
